Faux Linen Technique Challenge

Hi Everyone, Cindy here, your hostess for this challenge. Thanks to all who have tried our challenges thus far, we really are having a blast visiting your blogs. I have picked the technique challenge which I've decided on the faux linen technique. It's fun to do and very easy if you've not tried it before please give it a try. Here is a link to a video for you, in case you haven't done it before
Faux Linen Video
This technique is fun cause you can use it as a background technique or you can use it as part of the focal image of your project. I decided I would do one of each for you to see.
The first is the trees, the faux linen section of this card is actually the sky, doesn't show up as nice as I would like on the camera but it is there, The second card I've used it along with the background stamp wonderfully worn on the background piece, so as you can see both ways work really nice. So why not give it a try, and for more inspiration we have some great samples from our Design Team as well as our Guest Designer once again Von.Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your work.

Color Challenge...Is a Challenge!

HI Crafters! I am Julie, and this week I chose a color challenge here at Come and Get It! With all the funky weather going on, I thought it would be fun to use some Spring colors, so I have chosen Olive Green, Peach, and Light Green. When I decided on this combo, I thought it would be a breeze for me, but, alas, it wasn't! I hope you all have an easier time than I did! I know my fellow team members weren't as challenged as I...hmmm what does that say? LOL
We had such a WONDERFUL turnout with last week's challenge, again we all would like to say thank you! Please join us by posting your creations below in the linky! Have a GREAT week! HUGS~ Julie

Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday dear...

Hello Crafters...This weeks' challenge is all about Birthdays. My birthday was on the 4th and Cindy's is on the 11th of May. So it seemed like a great idea to make my theme challenge... Birthday cards. Finding out just the week that I am the oldest of our group was a little disturbing, to say the least. But, it has it's advantages too. I decided to do a masculine card for a change, something I find more difficult to do than other B-Day cards. Then I thought, why not take the same basic card and make it feminine. So I kept the same printed paper, changed borders, accents, coloured cardstock, and the twine became ribbon. And Voila! A whole new world. Hope you enjoy this challenge and thanks for listening. As I always say...May the fourth be with you!!! Leslie
