Cracked Glass Technique

Hi Crafters! This week's challenge is a Technique Challenge called Cracked Glass. It is basically taking an image, covering it with Versa Mark ink, and several layers of Clear Embossing Powder, heating each layer as you go. (I am simplifying it)  When it is cool, you literally break the thick layer of embossing to create the cracked effect. But don't take my word for it, watch a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and learn how this technique really works. Here are the Design Team's Creations, we hope you will join in.

Top Picks for Sketch Challenge

Thank you everyone that participated last week with our sketch challenge. It was a difficult decision to make as there were a number of great entries. Thanks again and hope you join us this coming week for our technique challenge.

My pick is Linda, as I really thought she did a great job on colouring the image as well as the background papers she chose. I also really like the lace at the bottom with the gingham ribbon and button, very country looking to go with a camping scene. Thanks Linda for joining us this week.

OMG when I saw Bettina’s card show up for the challenge I just knew that #8 was my favorite pick for this week! She used some of my favorite LOTV stamped images!

I will have to choose #8, Bettina. I just LOVE the Pastels she used for her non- traditional Christmas card, and such and adorable Image! I also like how she used Creative License to use the sketch by flipping it and making it work on a square card! Just Gorgeous!

I really like the bright colours that Ardilla used. The colouring is perfect as well, and the way she used the sentiment is just perfect. Thanks Ardilla for joining us this week.

Hugs Shell♥

I choose #12, the haunted house. I just love  all the details she has added to the base of this project...the curly crimped roofs, the layers and how she used the digi as a base, and   the spiderwebs in the corners are SO CUTE  I also   how she put the little people into the decor~ JUST SO CREATIVE~

I have chosen Lola's card this week because I think she did a great job using our color scheme, as well as I love all the stitching details she used along with the rick rack. The Image was colored just perfectly and a great clean and simple design. Great Job Lola.

Hi Everyone, it was great to have so many wonderful Halloween projects. It was difficult choosing the top picks for this week cause you all are so magnificent. Thanks for playing along with us this past week. For those that are picked, if you wish to be a Guest Designer at some time just email us at

Now onto our picks for this week.

My pick for today is #56, Sally's from "In my craft room". Sally must be a kindred spirit because her card is just what I would have done. I love the style of card, the colouring of the zombie and the scary Happy Halloween. Love it. Leslie

Wow this week is really hard to pick out a favorite with so many wonderful entries! I think that Kathy’s card being number #19 is just cute as a bug…….being she used “bugaboo” image! I just love all the little elements that she designed her card.

For my pick this week I've chosen Lori's decoration. I think it is great to see something other than a card. I love the spiderweb, the bat at the top and of course the Tilda's. Great job on your decoration.

This week I am going with #1 by Susan. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this image, and how she has done the entire card in Purple and Green! The ribbon flower just finishes it off perfectly!

WOW, we just LOVE all of your entries this week! Everyone made it extremely for the Design Team to choose favorites, lemme tell ya! I hope those we have chosen will send us an email and be Guest Designers with us on a future challenge~
 Here are our picks:

My top pick is Jo’s Boys Rock card. I love that she did a circular card  and the coloring is great! But what I liked the best are the embellishments - that guitar charm, the stars - it all works perfectly.

Well it was really hard to choose a top pick this week!
But overall I chose #36 which Diane used a Mo Manning image, she did a fantastic job on coloring and her card was composed so well……..oh yeah and I just love anything MO!!
Hugs Shell♥

My pick for this week is #36, Diane Ahlers card. I just loved her image and how she coloured it. I also loved her background papers and her sentiment. Home run for me !!!!

My pic this week is #16, made by Wendy. I just LOVE this image, and how she colored her! The DP's she used in traditional colors are gorgeous, and the musical DP just pulls it all together.

Please stop in tomorrow for our new challenge! Have a FABBY Saturday!
